Strom Engineering focuses on a proven process and expertise that sets us apart from competitors. Read about the details of our recruiting and deployment process and discover how a more personalized approach helps us create a unique plan for every client that delivers real results.
Strom Engineering’s ability to plan, recruit, and manage a temporary replacement workforce is well-proven and unmatched. This capability enables our clients to approach labor negotiations knowing an effective, tailor-made Business Continuity Plan is in place. Preparing and implementing such a plan should be approached with an experienced partner and a robust process.
During an Assessment, Strom works closely with management to understand the relevant operations, analyze the workforce and determine the resources necessary for an effective contingent workforce. We use the information to shape our recruiting and deployment strategies and address potential issues before they arise.
Skilled personnel are critical to the success of any contingent workforce. Strom has an extensive network of highly-experienced personnel available for deployment around the country. Our dedicated recruiters use project-specific qualifications to pre-screen candidates before verification of availability and eligibility, including updated background checks and drug screenings. Strom will even search externally to hire and expand as necessary to serve clients with the best available talent.
Additionally, we offer manager-training to our clients to cover National Labor Relations Act (NLRA) regulations and best-practices. These trainings will leverage Strom’s experience and empower managers to help maintain labor-management relations, mitigate risks, and conduct themselves lawfully during negotiations.
Process documentation services provide additional resources when developing a contingency plan. Thorough documentation of all relevant Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) enable future personnel to begin working faster and with greater efficiency. Our Documentation services capture key details and tribal-knowledge within an operating environment and produce lasting resources for our clients and their future planning efforts.
If logistical operations are threatened by a workforce disruption, Strom can supplement the contingency plan with a cross-dock solution or alternatives to existing logistical infrastructure. Logistical planning is essential during a labor disruption, and a complete Business Continuity Plan should always consider a full range of scenarios and solutions.
Prior to the deployment, Strom will arrange travel & lodging, as well as daily transportation to and from the worksite, for the entire workforce. Onboarding and orientation is conducted at the beginning of the assignment, or, in advance through a Pre-Deployment program.
Strom’s Project Managers and Coordinators ensure the onsite teams are timely, respectful, and receptive to work-direction as provided by the client.
Strom’s Project Managers are trained to prioritize the specific safety standards and procedures for each project. Additionally, Project Managers complete Occupational Safety and Health Organization (OSHA) training and are often experienced in first-aid or as first-responders.
At the project’s end, Strom Engineering uses an exit plan that efficiently disbands the temporary workforce and completes the work assignment. We ensure that any remaining work-in-progress is documented and work areas are prepared for the returning workforce.
